Abz Uni Kings Campus virtual O answers and winners

Answers

Congratulations to Helen and Stuart for winning the “answer them all” category gaining 980/1000 points in a time of 4:00 GMT (Gin Mit Tonic) and I know they will now be puzzling over how they got that now they have the answers to check as it doesn’t match up. (Clue: arbitrary bonus points awarded for bothering to convert four score merks into £sd.)

Running virtually

Jeremy came second despite sprinting out of the blocks as soon as the quiz was posted, even supplying photographic evidence, but then fell victim of WiFi problems so didn’t manage to answer them all before the deadline and incurred a few penalties in his panicked rush to submit by Monday.

Pete won both the “500 points with least number of controls” and “most controls in 30 mins” categories by dint of no other entries.

I know of more folk, non-Gramps, who had a go but didn’t want to submit answers so would you like another of these but without the competition side to it? Leave me a comment.

  1. Really enjoyed this. Would look forward to something similar again.

  2. Hi Rachel, this was a great idea to keep us occupied for a few hours!! I also think it should be a level playing field for all entrants, not just Gramps. One advantage of the lockdown is our reliance on digital contact, I had an interesting conversation with a lecturer in New Jersey this afternoon, that certainly would not have happened in our past life.

UPCOMING EVENTS (click series or event names for details link)

We’re slowly starting up again but at the moment it’s club members only (to aid contact tracing should the need arise and keep numbers attending events to a minimum.) We’ll send emails to members for individual events as they come up as arrangements may change. See our Covid 19 page for more info.

You can join the Mobile O revolution though and download the MapRun app and have a go at some local courses using your phone to time yourself and even navigate with. Visit our MapRun page for instructions and a list of maps.
