If you go down to the woods today…

…take your phone/camera and you can take part in this intriguing project https://www.forestryengland.uk/treeline

Artist Ruth Maclennan is collating video clips of forests by tying them together visually along a horizon, either actual or inferred as a level when panning round a clearing for example. Although commissioned by Forestry England and Film and Video Umbrella it will feature forests from across the world, depicting the unique features of each forest while highlighting the impact of the climate emergency on the world’s forests. The plan is to screen it online coinciding with COP 26.

You don’t need to be a professional to do this, phone footage is fine providing it’s not too wobbly of course. Full details on specs and how to submit are on the Forest England website.

(Thanks once again to Ewen Rennie for spotting this and passing it on.)
