Every other year (normally!) GRAMP stage a special kind of 2 day Mountain Marathon called the Grampian Mountain Challenge or GMC for short.

You need some basic orienteering skills as well as the ability to yomp over mountainous terrain in all kinds of weather as both days have two sections: a shorter orienteering section of medium technicality using orienteering maps and a longer hill running section using OS/Harveys or similar maps.

You can run individually or, and we encourage this for safety and sociability, in pairs on a range of courses carrying a small sack with only essential safety/spare kit as we transport your camping gear for you to the overnight campsite and provide hot food under cover for you to wolf down while discussing the day’s adventures with other competitors and old rivals.
