SUN 4/2/18 GRAMP Level C @ Back of Bennachie

A rare opportunity to run at the Back of Bennachie and a (JD)2C event.

Provisional course details are as follows:

White 1.8k 40m
Yellow 2.1k 40m
Orange 2.3k 45m
Lt Green 3.0k 80m
Green 3.6k 140m
Blue 4.6k 210m
Brown 5.6k 225m

Courses have been carefully designed to use the best bits of the forest and some moorland on the longer courses.

Given elevation and time of year jacket/cagoule, hat/gloves may be compulsory if the weather is bad.

Registration: 10:00 – 11:30 (times TBC – bit earlier given time of year)
Starts: 10:30 – 12:00
Courses close: 14:00

Seniors £5.00 (non-BOF £7.00)
Juniors/Students £2.50

Parking & Registration
Will be in the Back of Bennachie Forestry Commission visitors car park signposted with brown tourist signs off the B9002 1km west from Oyne.  Map.

Early Email Entry
You can bag a map for your prefered course by using this EEE form or emailing grampoc@gmail.com with ‘EEE Back of Bennachie’ in the title and your name, BOF number or age class/club and course by noon Saturday 3rd. We’ll reserve a map for you until 11:30 on Sunday and you can collect and pay on the day. No obligation, so you can change your course or not come and no additional charges.

  • The Big Weekend 2018
    This is the 10th anniversary of the Edinburgh University Orienteering Club's Big Weekend, although this year "Huge Weekend" might be a better name. There are 4 events, over 750 runners and nearly 2000 runs. Final details are on the EUOC website.
  • Mystery - can you help?
    After persistent enquiries - my thanks to everyone who helped - I've located nearly all the missing SOA trophies. Two are proving elusive: the Scottish Championships W70 quaich (pictured) and the Scottish Night Championships W21 trophy (also a quaich - no photo available).
