The event details read: “some genuine TD5+ with absolutely no paths, very few natural line features and acres of dunes to perambulate through”.
I’ll admit to finding the prospect of all that a wee bit scary (being incapable of holding a bearing for more than 20m on a good day) but it was great fun trying to alternately de-clutter and find a relatively safe line through/round so much detail and then trying to tune back into the detail to get to the right depression amongst hundreds of contenders.
